By placing an order with Coverly, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to protect both the client and the designer, ensuring a smooth and transparent collaboration.

1. Services Provided

Coverly offers professional design services, including but not limited to:

  • Digital and print-ready book cover designs

  • Book cover formatting for publishing platforms

  • Marketing material design (e.g., 3D mockups, social media graphics, promotional assets)

All services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each author and project

2. Payment Terms

  • No upfront payment is required. Payment is only due once you are 100% satisfied with the final design.

  • Payment must be completed prior to the delivery of final, high-resolution, unwatermarked files.

  • If payment is not received, the client will not obtain the final files, and the design (including its concept) remains the sole property of Coverly. It may not be used, referenced, or shared with another designer.

  • If the client cancels the order before any work has begun, no obligations remain for either party.

  • All prices are quoted in USD, unless otherwise specified.

3. Delivery Timeline

  • Standard packages: First draft delivered within 4 business days.

  • Premium packages: First draft delivered within 2 business days.

  • The delivery timeframe starts only after all required materials and details have been provided.

  • Coverly may contact the client to request clarification or missing elements before work begins.

  • Revisions are delivered as promptly as possible, depending on their complexity, but not extending 5 business days timeframe.

4. Revisions

  • Unlimited revisions are included within the scope of the original concept.

  • Major changes to the concept after approval may incur additional fees.

5. Stock Images

  • All stock images used in your design are fully licensed for commercial use and included at no additional charge.

  • Coverly reserves the right to substitute stock images based on availability and licensing terms.

  • The client is expected to comply with the licensing agreements associated with any third-party images used in the design. Standard licenses typically cover usage for up to 500,000 printed copies. If the print run exceeds this limit, additional licensing fees may apply.

  • While all images used are royalty-free, the copyright remains with the original photographer or content creator, and usage is strictly limited to the approved scope—primarily, the book cover design only.

  • Although all images are properly licensed, Coverly is not permitted to provide clients with the original image files or the individual license documents, as these are obtained under non-transferable terms.

6. Confidentiality

All client information and materials are treated as confidential and are used solely for the purposes of fulfilling the project.
Coverly will never share client data or project materials with third parties unless authorized in writing by the client.

All official communication will be conducted through:

7. Ownership Rights

  • Upon final payment, full rights to the final cover design are transferred to the client.

  • Coverly retains the right to display the design in our portfolio, website, or marketing materials unless a signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) is requested.

8. Design Draft Ownership

All preliminary drafts, sample designs, or concepts created by Coverly remain the intellectual property of Coverly until final payment is received.
These materials may not be reproduced, shared, or reused by the client in any form unless explicitly authorized.

9. Inactive Orders

If no communication is received from the client for 30 consecutive days, the project may be considered inactive and automatically archived.
Reactivating a dormant project may require rescheduling or incur a restart fee, depending on current availability.

10. Publishing Rights

  • The client affirms they have obtained all necessary permissions and rights for any materials submitted (e.g., images, text, logos).

  • The client is fully responsible for the legality and accuracy of submitted content, including any copyright or trademark matters.

  • The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Coverly and its team from any legal claims related to copyright infringement, defamation, or rights violations.

  • Materials must not be sourced from the public domain unless the client is the original author.

11. Client Responsibilities

  • Clients must provide accurate project details, including ISBNs (if a barcode is required) and specifications for the publishing platform.

  • Clients are responsible for proofreading all text included in the design. Coverly is not liable for any typographical or factual errors once a design is approved.

12. Refund Policy

  • Since no upfront payment is required, clients can opt not to proceed at any stage prior to final delivery.

  • Once the final files are delivered and payment is made, no refunds will be issued.

13. Limitation of Liability

Coverly is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, including delays, publishing errors, or platform-related technical issues resulting from the use of our designs.
